I wonder if Elise will appear in the next episode, since her Für appeared in this one.

And here are 17 improvisations on that tune.

I listened to this twice, it’s fabulous, thank you for sharing. I also sent it to my co-conspirator at the Beethoven Fest, the French pianist George Lepauw. This is a great example of the type of acts we would have had at the festival.

Love this reference myself! I was the art director for the International Beethoven Festival (this time of year always reminds me of the Beethoven Birthday Bash as big B was born on December 16th) and even during the 2020 covid festival, I ran a 6 hour live stream that broadcast in several countries featuring the likes of the Bonn Symphony out of my bedroom in my jammies with a glass of wine in hand. One of my finest moments, even if I do say so myself.

Wow, what a great job that must have been, with so much great music to choose from.

What a visual Tonika. Hidden talents on top of obvious talents. I think that scene you just described could be a natural jumping-off for the next EC.

Never have faecal matters been dramatised in such detail, and it could not be more entertaining. Hopefully the train continues to veer further off the meta-narrative tracks in Part 5.

I knew you would appreciate that, Isaac. I can't tell you how obsessed I've been with wombats since you introduced me to the Oatmeal comic. And as I told Thumbnail Green below, "I've transferred my abundant affection for Isaac to wombats and vice-versa."

When I set up my caret simulation game at my retrometro.com domain, I hope you'll consider moving onto Wombat Way at the intersection of Apocaloptimist Lane. I think that Thumbnail might join you.

After Thumbnail reminding me about the platypusses (platypi?) and noticing when she subbed me (!) that Alice reads The Curious Platypus, should we have a Platypus Place off of Wombat Way? Or a Platypus Plaza?

What fun that would be, Neshma! With your word-play and fecund imagination (love getting to use that word!) it would be such a feast.

I had to look up “fecund”… I’m glad it means something entirely different than what it sounds like… 😅

Oh this was SO good. So many brilliant lines, I loved it. I mean "he would indeed make an exquisite corpse".... Brilliant. How chuffed I was to feature as a Luna loving cat as well.... thrilled in fact. Well done both of you 👏👏👏 and thank you again Tonika for instigating such ridiculous fun, we all need some of that.

The precedent set by you, Isaac and Tonika forced me to heights of absurdity I didn't know I had in me ;-) And proves that it's never to late to develop a penchant for scatological humor!

It was Kathleen who remembered the cat and said we needed to name it. We looked at Apollo as the counterpoint to Luna but then Whalley was such a perfect Philipesque cat name and the perfect vehicle for our 'omage. And we still slipped Apollo back in at the end.

The exquisite corpse line wrote itself, along with the visceral adventures. And the best part, among so many best parts, was that it gave me an introduction to you, April. Well met!

You had me at wombat. I see a lot of dead ones on the side of the road. They are awesome when alive though and are the only animal that does a square shaped poo. Australia is like that. We have Platypus and fresh apricots and cherries at christmas right off the tree

Haha! I've been enamored of wombats ever since Isaac linked that comic from The Oatmeal, which is my all time favorite. As it recommends, I now think about them often. And I've transferred my abundant affection for Isaac to wombats and vice-versa.

The platypus! Another excellent silly creature I need to incorporate into something else I'm working on. And you have dingoes! No fair that you've cornered the market on anthropogenic animals--easy to project with colorful personalities.

And let me use this opportunity to tell you how much I enjoyed your video with Tonika, the collab queen. For some reason Substack wouldn't let me post a reply to you at the time, so I lost my appreciate rant. But hopefully that's fixed and this goes through.

And the best part, among so many best parts, was getting to conspire with you and make Tonika jealy ;-) Yes, this will definitely be a year of deepening our 'real life' connections, and that isn't just those in physical proximity.

Visceral Adventure's avatar

You two make fine conspirators! I hope you’re right about the deeper connections, T. I think humanity has come to the precipice. We can’t sugar coat our way of anything anymore. And frankly, after binging on gummy bears, one feens for a good old fashion chicken soup or something, right? I’ve cut away all “friendships” in my life that are simple surface level. No interest or time to invest in shallow conversations. Or am I just getting old?
