Wow, this article is the epitome of propaganda. Littered with double speak and peppered with apologism and that’s rich of them to call other outlets propaganda. One day, they’ll study and dissect articles like this for educational purposes.
Yeah, I spend a lot of time thinking about how future generations will think about everything "we" have been up to. I hope the comedic elements won't be overlooked.
As sad as it may sound, I can't remember the last time I laughed as hard as today when I read this thread.
I had never realized how faces change when they stops smiling. One of the many deep insights these past years had to offer that I could have done without.
Looking forward to the next time you manage to cheer me up!

Yes. There was a boy in my daughter's class who I've known since first grade. He had always been a very lively child, always caught my attention when I picked her up from elementary school.
His parents didn't want him to wear masks and got him an exemption from a doctor. This was in 5th grade.
How the school handled this was to set up plexi glass walls around his table.
Then later when they went on their first long (1 week) school trip he wasn't allowed to come at all because the children were ordered to wear masks at all times, unless eating or sleeping, even on their rooms.
He stopped coming to school at that point. When he was eventually back in school he just wasn't the same anymore. Not playing around anymore, not making animal sounds, not talking to anyone.
Outstanding! Extremely clever! Extremely True! even if some of the memes went right over my 75 yr. old head. I usually don't do memes, but I may have to reconsider after reading this.
Very, Very, Funny!! Thanks. I needed those laughs.
Without the memes how would we have made it through so far.. behind every meme is another seeing the same things. The old 'If don't laugh you'd cry'. Tradegy is indeed comical at times. I always liked dark humor, I'm a big fan of Dr Strangelove. The comical angle of tragedy makes that dark reality more tolerable while highlighting the awareness of a critical issue we'd all be better to recognize.
I am watching the movie "the real anthony fauci part 2." They have some scenes where they are showing old clip, for example Eisenhower talking about the military industrial complex. In the movie they show the clip in a television screen in a living room with a family watching it. It's an interesting presentation, compared to having clips fill the screen all the time. The first time I saw someone do this was in your video sads world. Maybe other people have done it before (I don't watch a whole lot of media), but if they got the idea from your video, I thought it was cool that you had that influence.
Incredibly flattered, but the trick has been around. It was a personal feat for me though, because I had never done green screen keying before (the technical term for the trick) and so I just used it over and over again in the video. 😂
I need to watch the Fauci movies. So behind on everything.
What an astounding collection of memes... many clever, some fun, comical, brilliant, and some honestly hit me very hard. Some parts of this make me want to cry but I swallow it back because I just don't want to feel weepy right now.
Some things that really Really resonate with me, like the feeling of fundamental pillars crumbling, or trying to attain sanity or peace of mind being like "trying to quiet the ocean by pressing on the waves”. And falling down a rabbit hole only to find another hole and another one and keep falling. I think I am just at that point of transitioning from "impulsive outrage to more humility", and that's a good thing, as outrage does not feel good, and somehow increasing my level of humility is oddly increasing my peace of mind and/or sanity.
And lastly, your point about "Those that still (unbelievably) believe that the government has your best interest at heart and that public health entities are there for your safety and protection, just might be under some kind of spell. There is no other explanation. You can’t even engage right now, just walk away." is one I absolutely need to take to heart. I have also realized within the past few months that continuing to engage with those particular individuals only does me more mental-health-damage, and for my own well-being, walking away is the best and wisest choice.
A great recap of the past year, very creatively done, with a nice dollop of wisdom on top!
Thank you, Jen. I think you guys had a harder time up in Canada than in some of the US (although I’m in Chicago, so I was surrounded by medical discrimination for a long while, it is finally easing up). It is impossible to avoid covid zealots. Still. Still. I do my best to retain my integrity and I never lie, but I don’t engage and try to convince. If I’m forced to respond to something looney they said, I repeat is as an incredulous question and just stare at them as if they said something highly unusual. It confuses them and they disengage. And it’s the best I can do with those kinds of people right now.
I too have been transformed by the isolation, heart-break and terror of living through the last year as an unvaxed person and all that goes with it. Reading your post lifted my spirit and gave me back some hope. Thank you!
Enjoyed this post no end--Golly Moses, ya found some GREAT'uns there--the Christopher Lee one's extra timely too (talk about a trick fer a treat in this "bloody mess" we're in!) Loved the Missin' Milk Carton a' ya--a lotta've us've changed by the dastardly absurdities of the present and indeed, we ain't goin' back but we sure gotta find'a way forward!

This had a HUGE impact on me from the very first despicable tweet (?) from the White House and has left me quite breathless. I'm in the UK and I don't think we had quite the hysteria you had there, but then we're a small country, reserved and understated, whereas you guys have always done things huge. Admittedly our government has fallen apart but nothing new there. This is so wonderfully presented and also very heartening because, for at least a year, we (I) had no conception of what the fight back was like over there. Being self-employed I spent the last two and a half years researching the ass off of this bulshit and , while I couldn't believe it was happening, I was also (eventually) encouraged that the measures taken to sell the narrative were so patently absurd it was becoming its own self-creating satire. I know how much effort must have gone into this post and I thank you for it, not least because it serves as a reminder. So much absurdity crawled out of the woodwork that it's easy to forget a lot of it ever happened. So those 'mea culpas' you mention don't resonate with me. Are we really being asked to forgive the bystanders as they shuffled aside to allow the cattle trucks to rattle through the 1940s German countryside laden with their human cargo and said nothing? Or, worse still, were complicit in their condemnation of those of us in the resistance? I will find that hard, but perhaps the task will be eased by the knowledge that we have, indeed, shifted to a new and better paradigm. Thank you again for a wonderful post.
Thank you for these powerful words, Sharon. Right you are, I’m excited by the prospect of a paradigm shift. We need restorative justice, not punitive justice, I fear that anyone seeking revenge will be side tracked and satiated but the sacrifice of a few faucis and if history is any indication, it will be a recipe for another repeat. My UK friends held strong. Some (like Ant!) handled the absurdities with much needed humour. I try not to take myself too seriously, but luckily I have found new friends that keep me tickled. 🙏
Brilliant. I was excited to see a new stack by Visceral Adventure and was not disappointed! Excellent, will go back to many times I'm sure. Loved your collection and memes. And happy Anniversary Tonika!💞
God I loved so hard on some of these. Thank you

This is why parody and satire are key. Gonna try and lean into that with some up coming collaborations.

Great insight. I have noticed the impact on children the most.

Ah, ok. It was very engaging in your sad video, so I'm glad you did the one thing you knew, repeatedly. 😄
How did you decipher that through all the typos? I need to stop using the app when in the comment section...

P.S: We need more memalanches!
Ha! The memes go really quick. It doesn’t seem as long as the algo says it is. Thanks, Kalev. 🤗

Thank you, Kathleen! It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year, but at the same time, it feels like we’ve been doing this for years...
I'm familiar with that feeling! I look forward to your next year. Best.

what a painful, delightful, hilariously true synopsis. Thank you!
