I love language. And I am so utmost deeply impressed by your language virtuosity!!! Rarely I have read and seen texts in English using such a scope of nouanced(?) lexis and playing with register and all thinkable instruments of a language. More often have I seen this in German literature, maybe in some English classics, but who nowadays has such a wide language prfociency? Often I do not really understand your texts and am deeply frustrated as having a master in education for teaching English at highschool-level and not being able to follow someone who is not native and has the often forgotten richness of the English language thrive to such an extent. (Not even sure if this sentence makes any sense.. ;-))

I suppose each culture has its own shorthand in communication that isn’t just based on the pure language itself, but in shared lived experience. “Weighing” in just means to impart your thoughts on a matter. Never a bother, always welcome. I’m sure neologisms (made up words which you can sense what they mean) aren’t helpful for communication but I am so very fond of them. Like “Apocalyptimist” - doesn’t that perfectly describe a certain kind of person?

However, I'd like to propose a shortcut: give people responsibility for their own choices. Do we need the FDA? Any more than we need the NIH? Rather than the Medical Freedom Movement, I've argued for the Medical Responsibility Movement. Stop enabling the monopolies with subsidies or regulations they have the lawyers and infrastructure to navigate. Let consumers choose and let communities decide what they want to enforce.
And particularly, help out the small producers. Under my plan, if you have ^100 a month diverted from the bankers and into the pocket of every person for local food, multiply for yourself the impact that would have. In a mere hamlet of 3000 people, that's ^300,000 every month in circulation producing local food, and the same amount for wellcare to cover all the beneficial services and medicinal plants. It also keeps the costs affordable because there are maximum income levels, so the cost of living--especially housing--goes down rather than bidding it up against each other.
As the money noose tightens, I'm finding people have more patience with understanding my plan. A subtle shift, but I don't get the same barely suppressed eyeroll these days when I bring it up. Instead, I'm getting sincere questions. But you have always taken my ideas seriously, Tonika, when I was struggling to believe in them myself. For which I will always be grateful.

I live in an area with so much untapped land, prime for community gardens. Been suggesting to a neighborhood couple I know to consider converting an empty lot to just that. They are not there yet, but open to it.

People who were close to retirement have lost their benefits and pensions. Those with fresh degrees and careers in things they believed in--social services, forestry management, environmental protections--now have a future as baristas. All the contractors to the gov't, excepting defense which still has work supplying Israel with weapons, are teetering on the brink.

However, I'd like to propose a shortcut: give people responsibility for their own choices. Do we need the FDA? Any more than we need the NIH? Rather than the Medical Freedom Movement, I've argued for the Medical Responsibility Movement. Stop enabling the monopolies with subsidies or regulations they have the lawyers and infrastructure to navigate. Let consumers choose and let communities decide what they want to enforce.
And particularly, help out the small producers. Under my plan, if you have ^100 a month diverted from the bankers and into the pocket of every person for local food, multiply for yourself the impact that would have. In a mere hamlet of 3000 people, that's ^300,000 every month in circulation producing local food, and the same amount for wellcare to cover all the beneficial services and medicinal plants. It also keeps the costs affordable because there are maximum income levels, so the cost of living--especially housing--goes down rather than bidding it up against each other.
As the money noose tightens, I'm finding people have more patience with understanding my plan. A subtle shift, but I don't get the same barely suppressed eyeroll these days when I bring it up. Instead, I'm getting sincere questions. But you have always taken my ideas seriously, Tonika, when I was struggling to believe in them myself. For which I will always be grateful.

That's a great idea, Tereza, and I'm with you on not needing all these Fed agencies - individuals part of communities have their own natural agency when it comes to eating healthy food. I live in an area with so much untapped land, prime for community gardens. Been suggesting to a neighborhood couple I know to consider converting an empty lot to just that. They are not there yet, but open to it.
I'll reply here to catch both you, Kathleen, and Tonika. The government's greatest supporters, iow those who work for the gov't now, have just been chopped or realize they're on the chopping block. People who were close to retirement have lost their benefits and pensions. Those with fresh degrees and careers in things they believed in--social services, forestry management, environmental protections--now have a future as baristas. All the contractors to the gov't, excepting defense which still has work supplying Israel with weapons, are teetering on the brink.
I don't think the shock waves of this new influx into the gig economy has hit us yet. It's not like these people are going to work for corporations. Uber drivers?
All of these jobs supplied the next level of the economy, services and independent businesses. Corporations are doing layoffs. I passed a billboard in SF that said, "Don't hire humans. Hire Alexa."
I don't think the bottom-up needs activation so much as a plan. The time is ripening like a June peach. The only thing that can stop it is our belief that it's impossible.

I am down for a complete overhaul. I suppose this was more downstream of where we are at now. Something we can measure with specific metrics by the end of Kennedy's term as HHS. But my woo woo ass would live in a yurt and gather weeds to make witchy brews that make Barbara proud if I can figure out how to swing that. I don't know how to solve the gap between money being withdrawn from medicine and innovations in medicine. Allopathic care has its place. I would just like to avoid it at all costs. But averting money from bankers and instead putting it towards local food is speaking my language.
