Put in a sentence for me at the pit. For me it has always been that every last or family name was an American name. Wong, Lee, Von Hoover, Blackfeather, etc. All American names. No exclusions.
I consider myself to be a citizen of Heaven 1st and a citizen of planet Earth 2nd. The other citizenships are arbitrary and divisive. This is where my heart and loyalties reside.
Melting pot context. Any last name is American. All are welcome and contribute. Lots of different flavors are American. The perception in some minds may be different, but really, all are/can be citizens. American. It is a mind set for me.

Also, my little one and his dad found a pigeon with broken legs under the EL stop last week…so now we are also caring for a pigeon. This household has a dog, three cats, a bunch of fish and now a pigeon. Because all the humans living in this house weren’t enough. My life is chaos.
Oh boy, once the animals know there's an animal-lover in the house, there's no turning back. How precious that you're caring for a Pigeon, Tonika. Your son and his dad, too. You can't imagine how happy that makes me. XO
To be fair, Frankie and his dad are doing most of the caring. I’m a little traumatized by the baby bunny that lay dying on my sidewalk in the rain (scared to death, it looked like). Brought it in to keep it dry and to feed it and nurse it back to life. But it died anyway. 😢 and all I was left with was a box full of ticks!
